Useful resources
Our resources section brings together practical information to support sessional and portfolio GPs throughout their careers. Explore guidance on education and CPD, appraisal and revalidation, salaried and locum working, contracts, pensions, out-of-hours work, self-directed learning groups and wider professional opportunities.
Resources are provided as a helpful starting point, and members should check that guidance remains current and applicable to their own circumstances.
Why We Love NESG
As the NHS enters a period of major change under the 10 Year Health Plan, the contribution of sessional and portfolio GPs has never been more important. The shift towards neighbourhood care, prevention and new ways of working will depend on an adaptable, skilled and properly supported primary care workforce.
Never has there been a greater need for an organisation like NESG: bringing colleagues together, strengthening our collective voice and providing the education, professional connections and mutual support needed to shape the future of general practice across the North East.
